🌟 How was Collectif Ensemble born ?

“When baking becomes a lesson in inclusion”

It all started in a ULIS classroom at a middle school in Alsace.

A baking workshop, a pinch of enthusiasm, and then… a big dose of frustration.

Students with disabilities were faced with recipes they could not understand, steps that were too long, and measurements that were impossible to follow.

Then a bright idea emerged:

👉 “What if we created a recipe book that was truly accessible ?”
👉 “For everyone. No exceptions.”

With the support of their specialized teacher, Anne-Karin, and their teaching assistant, Julien, these extraordinary young people jumped into the adventure.

Simplified measurements, clear illustrations, adapted steps. Every page was designed so that cooking could become a shared pleasure for all.

After weeks of work, laughter, and late nights, the result was there:

Hopla Chef, the very first recipe book accessible to everyone. 💛

🏆 The story that changed everything

Presented at the University of Strasbourg, the project was praised as a true model of inclusive innovation.

The book crossed borders, challenged stereotypes, and even reached the Council of Europe.

A few months later, the young authors and their teachers headed to Paris for an unforgettable moment. They won first prize at the national APAJH Awards.

Under the spotlight, surrounded by ministers and experts, they proved that with a little boldness and a lot of heart, it is possible to change the way disability is seen.

💫 The birth of Collectif Ensemble

Carried by this incredible momentum, a group of parents, teachers, and assistants decided to go further.

To create a structure that could continue to imagine, connect, and take action.

This is how the Collectif Ensemble association was born.

The idea was simple:

Allow everyone to discover this book and draw inspiration from it.

Very quickly, success exceeded all expectations. More than 2,500 copies sold, requests coming from abroad, and a real logistical challenge to manage.

Instead of stopping there, the team chose to turn this success into a springboard.

➡️ Closing one project, yes.
➡️ But only to give birth to many more 🌱

🌍 Today

Collectif Ensemble now carries more than a dozen solidarity projects.

Intergenerational workshops, initiatives with young people with disabilities, shared creations with seniors.

Each project carries the same spirit: kindness, connection, and transmission.
